Jury Information

As a juror, you serve a vital role in our Judicial System and your service is an important responsibility of citizenship. The United States Constitution guarantees everyone the right to trial by an impartial jury. Without willing jurors, the fairness and integrity of our Judicial System could not be maintained. Selection

Jurors are selected at random from a computerized jury pool that is currently made up of Tennessee Department of Safety licensed Anderson County drivers. Jurors are compensated at the rate of $11 for each day’s attendance.

If you have received a summons, please call the jury information line 865-457-6221 after 4:00 p.m. the day before scheduled jury duty. There will be a message for each jury panel on the recording. Please listen carefully and follow the instructions.

Technology

The use of cellular telephones, laptop computers, or other communication devices in the courtroom is prohibited.

Jury text notifications are available.  Jurors can sign up to receive service updates by text.  The text notifications are courtesy reminders.  If for any reason jurors do not receive the text message, they are still responsible for checking the jury information line at 865-457-6221 or call the office at 865-463-6821 during regular business hours.  There is not a fee charged to use the notification service, however, depending upon the phone carrier, standard text rates may apply.  The Court cannot guarantee all phone carriers are compatible with the text notification service.  Instructions to sign up for the jury text message system will be provided at jury orientation.
